Our Story

SweetFreeze was created by the team behind Ocho Sundries — a small, family-owned food business known for bold flavors, handcrafted batches, and creative product development. As Ocho grew, we saw an opportunity to explore a new side of food: freeze-dried snacks. Their intense flavor, ultra-light texture, and long shelf life opened the door to products we’ve always dreamed of making.

Where We’re Starting

Right now, SweetFreeze launches with freeze-dried candy. It’s fun, it’s crunchy, and it’s the one category we’re able to offer immediately while we work through the required approvals for our next phase of products. We take the same care with our candy that we do with every Ocho product — small batches, hands-on production, and a commitment to quality.

What’s Coming Next

Our long-term goal is to bring real, natural foods into the freeze-dried space. Behind the scenes, we’re actively developing:

• Pet Treats - simple ingredients, no fillers, no preservatives 

• Freeze-Dried Salsa — a completely new way to enjoy Ocho’s signature flavors

• Fruit Snacks — real fruit, no dyes, no fillers

• Veggie Crunch Mixes — snackable, clean-ingredient blends inspired by fresh produce

These items are currently undergoing testing and regulatory review. We expect to expand into these categories in Spring 2026, bringing a new wave of innovative, shelf-stable products to Ocho Sundries and SweetFreeze customers.

All SweetFreeze products are crafted in Pittsburgh in our certified commercial kitchen. We produce in small batches to ensure freshness, consistency, and the best possible crunch in every bag.
